The Lavaugarde Mill, in Thauron

Nestled in the heart of the peaceful countryside , this former mill by the water offers a haven of tranquility with no overlooking neighbors.

Overlooking the green valleys of the Creuse , near the charming medieval town of Bourganeuf , this gîte is the perfect place for family reunions , gatherings with friends or peaceful holidays , without any noise restrictions.

Our house can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people (3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom).

Upon your arrival, for your comfort , the beds will be made and towels will be provided free of charge.

The mill offers you a vast living space including a lounge with wood stove and television (access to Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney Plus), a dining room and a fully equipped kitchen .

Upstairs you will find three bedrooms, each with its own charm, as well as a modern bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower, 2 toilets (1 of which is separate) and a washing machine .

To enhance your evenings, a selection of board games is available for you to enjoy in front of a comforting fireplace (wood provided).

Pets are welcome in our little corner of paradise (please read the conditions of welcome in our General Terms and Conditions of Sale).

To ensure your stay is as pleasant as possible, end-of-stay cleaning is included.

Located at the gateway to the Millevaches Regional Natural Park , just 30 km from the famous Lake Vassivière and 10 km from Bourganeuf.

Shops nearby (bakery, butcher, small grocery store, Post Office, Bar-Tabac, beautician, hairdresser, garage, doctor, pharmacy) only 5 km away (Pontarion).

Our mill is nestled in the heart of a region rich in natural, architectural and historical heritage.

Hiking and cycling trails, which we would be delighted to provide, invite you to explore the beauty of the surrounding nature.

In the heart of the Creuse region, the Gîte Le Moulin de Lavaugarde welcomes you and your faithful companion to a peaceful and dog-friendly setting. Your dog will enjoy a large outdoor space to run and play, a welcome kit including a mat, bowls, treats and a toy, as well as numerous walks to discover in the surrounding area.

To ensure harmonious cohabitation, we ask that you respect a few simple rules: pick up excrement, ensure your dog is clean before returning home, avoid access to beds and sofas, and do not leave your pet alone.

We are also available to advise you on veterinarians, groomers or pet-sitting services if needed.
